I would also like to know if this is true... if it is then the price of high req items will drop considerably and the low req items will rocket.

i think that would be the case now....low req items sell high, and high req items just dont get the attention as much..

anyway, 50k+ and 100-140k+

okay, from what i understand, the req affects your ability to cause max dmg with the weapon. for example, a mo/w who wants to use an axe for dmg (don't ask why) will need to meet the req of the weapon to cause max dmg. if the req isn't met, the dmg caused is puny. so the lower the req, the less points he'll have to put into axe mastery, which leaves more points for other attributes. a req 13 axe would be out of the question as only a primary warrior can have axe mastery beyond 12. so the lower the req on a weapon, the higher it's value as more primary & secondary warriors can use it and cause max dmg.

from the game description:
[weapon] mastery
[weapon] mastery increases the dmg you do with [weapons] and your chance to inflict a critical hit when using a [weapon]. many skills, especially [weapon] attack skills, become more effective with higher [weapon] mastery.

so this basically means the more points you have in that weapon mastery attribute, the higher the dmg you inflict, and the higher your chances for a critical hit.

ok, i could be WRONG big time though, i think i read it some where where it says if the req of your weapon is 12 and you only have 12 points attributed to that particular skill, you only deal 77% of the original or max or whatsoever you wanna call it......
can someone clarify that for me?

but this saying the same the theirs what....as in the lower the attributed points relative to the req of the weapon, the less chances to deal a critical hit?

okay, the way i interpret it is that the more points you have in weapon mastery, the higher your dmg and chances of a critical hit. that's clear, it says so ingame. but if you don't meet the req of the weapon, then the dmg you do will not be max. so that "higher dmg, higher chance of critical hit" condition only kicks in once the weapon's req is met. i could be wrong though, so let's see what everyone else has to say. or if someone could post a link to a thread where this is already discussed, that might be helpful. cheers!

If you don't meet the req of a weapon you deal less damage with it, of course, and yes a higher axe mastery means always more damage... i'm quite sure about both this two things.

The thing i've never heard before is that if you have 13 axe mastery, with an axe that req 12 you do less critical hits (or less damage) than with an axe that req 9... is that true?

k lets break this down,

if u weld an axe req 9 and u have 9 in axe mastery u will do the same dmg as an axe with 12 req if u have 12 in axe mastery.

However....

if u have 13 points in axe mastery and ur axe req 12 then yes u will do less dmg and have less chance of a critical hit than with the same 13 axe mastery and a req 9 axe, Why? well ever point of axe mastery u have over the weapon reqirements adds 1% ( per extra axe master point ) chance of a critical hit and adds i believe 2dmg per point over aswell.

So you can see why ppl want low req weapons, low req = potentially more dmg with high Axe mastery in this case + increased chance of a critical hit.

what bout if you have 15 axe mastery and you're weilding a req10 axe and you compare that with 15axe mastery and weilding a req8 axe? will the difference be huge?

there's a thread hidden somewhere where derrtyboy demonstrated dmg done by a critical hit with 4 different weapons with different reqs.

they all did the same dmg on a critical hit.

i'll try and hunt that thread down or if db reads this, post a link, will ya!
